The CoDI project in Vietnam is managed by CASRAD, and implemented in four provinces by CASRAD (2) and FAVRI (2). Both CASRAD and FAVRI are institutes within the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences (VAAS), with a mandate for research and development. In addition, CoDI activities complement those in the MALICA project (Markets and agriculture linkages for cities in Asia), a collaborative project between CASRAD and CIRAD (France).
The principal objectives of the CoDI project within CASRADs and FAVRIs programmes in Vietnam, is to upscale earlier work on the marketing of previously selected local agricultural products, particularly bo khai vegetable in Bac Kan, aromatic (sticky) rice in Hai Duong, longan in Ha Noi, and pomelo in Thua Thien Hue.
